Ajuga reptans 'Catlin's Giant' (Bugle)

Ajuga reptans ‘Catlin’s Giant’ is much larger and more showy than most or all of the other bugles. The attractive metallic brownish purple to green foliage carpets the ground in shade or sun. The flower spikes approximately 30 cm tall carry rich metallic blue flowers in spring.
This plant will grow in any reasonable garden soil in sun or shade. It is happiest in moisture retentive soil in partial shade. It spreads by means of runners.
