Aquilegia vulgaris is a very popular and versatile perennial approximately 80 cm high for sunny or shady positions in the border or wild garden. This strain produces flower colours ranging from pink to maroon to blue to dark purple to virtually black. The plant usually self seeds.
This plant will grow in any well drained garden soil in sun or shade.
