Asphodeline lutea has a rosette of attractive grassy foliage. In summer it sends up a flower shoot 90 to 120 cm high. The yellow flowers have a pleasant scent.
This plant will grow in any reasonable garden soil, in sun or light shade. It is a native of the eastern Mediterranean, so is drought resistant. It spreads by underground suckers, and may self seed.
