Aster lateriflorus 'Lady in Black' (Michaelmas Daisy) sends up dark purple/green leaves through the summer, and then produces masses of pink centred white small daisy like flowers in autumn. It is about 4 feet tall.
This plant will grow in any well drained garden soil in sun or partial shade.
