Aster novae-angliae
Aster novae-angliae is known as the New England aster because the original species is a wild flower in New England. This species is more mildew resistant and more upright than aster novi-belgii. It is a reliable perennial which will grow in any garden soil in sun or light shade. It is happiest in well drained moist soil in a sheltered sunny spot.
