Astilbe x arendsii 'Fanal' is a magnificent plant when the 2 foot tall deep scarlet plumes are flowering in summer. The attractive ferny foliage is mahogany coloured early in the year and green to bronze green in summer.
This plant will grow in sun or light shade. It needs a humus rich soil that does not dry out in droughts to thrive.
