Astrantia major 'Ruby Wedding' is an extremely hardy and at the same time very delicate looking plant. The deep ruby-red flowers are out from June to August, and the foliage is flushed purple-red. It can survive in sticky clay soils and dry shade. The height is 60-70 cm.
This plant will do best in rich moist soil in partial shade, although it will survive in poorer soil. It grows to a height of approximately 80 cm.
