Athyrium var. okanum (Eared Lady Fern)

Athyrium otophorum var. okanum (Eared Lady Fern) has red new fronds, changing to pale green and then to darker green with red stems. It is said to be deciduous, but often keeps its leaves in winter.
It is happiest in moisture retentive soil in a sheltered partially shaded site. The height is 50-65 cm.
