Caltha palustris (King Cup)

Caltha palustris (Kingcup or Marsh Marigold) is a British native wild flower and a great plant for early spring flowers in boggy ground. The large golden cup shaped flowers start to open at the end of March, and the plant grows to about 1 foot high and across.
This plant needs soil that does not dry out and is really only suitable for growing as an aquatic or water marginal plant, in sun or partial shade.
