Cardamine pratensis (Lady's smock or cuckoo flower) is one of the first plants to bloom in Spring in damp meadows and woodlands (hence the name cuckoo flower). The beautiful lilac flowers are on a stem 9 to 15 inches tall.
This very adaptable plant will grow in any reasonable damp or well drained garden soil and in sun or light shade.
