Crambe maritima (Sea Kale) grows wild in large clumps near the sea. The blanched shoots have a delicate flavour and can be eaten raw, as winter salad, or steamed. The leaves are grey-green and the sweet smelling white flowers attract many insects in Summer.
This plant is happiest in any reasonable well drained garden soil in sun. It is salt tolerant and will grow in sand.
Detailed growing instructions are supplied with the Crambe maritima (Sea Kale) plants, and can be viewed here.
