7. How does the internal site search work?
The internal site search is designed to help find particular plants or any other items on the site. Typical searches would be for 'geranium', 'michaelmas daisy', 'postage', 'esther read' and so on.
Searching works best if words such as 'and', 'or' and 'with' are omitted. This is because all the words on each page are indexed for searching. So a search phrase including 'and' would just tend to rank pages containing lots of 'and's' highly.
There is a built-in spelling corrector, which will automatically change any words it thinks are misspellings of words in its dictionary.
Any comments about how this feature, or any other parts of this web site, could be improved would be much appreciated.
