Geranium macrorrhizum ?Ingwersen?s Variety? forms a spreading cover of evergreen foliage around 25 - 30 cm high and approximately 1 metre in diameter after a few years. The foliage emits a very pleasant and distinctive lemon - sherbet smell when crushed or touched. It is a fine ground cover plant for sun or light shade. The attractive pale pink flowers appear in late spring to early summer.
Any reasonable garden soil in sun or shade will do. The best results are obtained in well drained organic soil in sun or partial shade. It is always hardy and forms a very effective ground cover, without being invasive. A first class plant, which produces a fine display of flowers and does not die or suffer from pests or diseases.
