Hosta fortunei var. aureomarginata (Plantain Lily)

Hosta fortunei ‘Aureomarginata’ is one of the most popular plantain lilies in cultivation. The leaves form a statuesque mound approximately 60 cm tall and 90 cm across. The abundant beautiful lavender flowers on stalks approximately 1 metre high bloom around mid summer.
This plant will grow in any reasonable garden soil and is one of the most adaptable hostas. It is happiest in fertile well drained soil, so adding organic matter will improve its growth. It is best sheltered from strong winds and will grow in full sun or partial shade.
