Houttuynia cordata 'Chameleon' is valued most for the striking red, cream and green leaves, which have a scent of citrus if crushed. The white flowers are out in summer. It reaches a height of around 30 to 45 cm.
This plant will grow as a bog plant, but is also resistant to dry conditions. It will succeed in sun or shade, although the leaf colours develop best in sunny conditions.
