Iris foetidissima is a British native and is happy in dry sheltered locations. The flowers are rather low key pale yellow iris flowers. Many people grow it primarily for the bright orange berries in winter. However, the attractive evergreen leaves, the flowers and the berries provide some interest all the year round. The evergreen strappy leaves are very attractive all the year round.
It is happiest in partial shade and will grow in deeper shade than most plants. It is often found in woods. The clump will increase slightly over the years and it may produce seedlings naturally.
Detailed growing instructions are supplied with the Iris foetidissima (Stinking Iris) plants, and can be viewed here.
