Liatris spicata is an exotic perennial plant. The feathery purple flowers are out in early summer on the 2-3 foot tall stems above the grassy foliage. It is a good cut flower and can be made to bloom again in late summer if the first flower heads are removed.
This plant will grow in any reasonable well drained garden soil in a sunny position.
