Meconopsis cambrica (Welsh Poppy)

Meconopsis cambrica (the welsh poppy) produces a succession of fine yellow poppy flowers in sun or partial shade. Occasionally there is a plant with particularly attractive pale orange flowers. The divided foliage is a pleasant shade of green. The height of the flowers is approximately 40 cm.
This plant will grow in any reasonable soil in sun or partial shade. It prefers organic soil and a sheltered position. It usually self seeds prolifically.
