Polystichum aculeatum (Hard Shield Fern)

The Hard Shield Fern (Polystichum aculeatum) is a beautiful evergreen fern which associated particularly well with other shade loving plants like hostas and astilbes.
The tapering, ladder-like leaves have a beautiful feathery texture and are about 45cm long. It likes shade or partial shade and a moist well drained soil.
