Salvia 'Purpurea' (Purple Sage)

Salvia officinalis 'Purpurea' is the purple leaved form of the culinary herb sage. The dense bush of attractive and fragrant purple foliage approximately 60 cm high and 80 cm wide makes a superb feature in the flower border or herb garden. The blue flower spikes are produced in summer.
This plant will grow in any well drained soil in sun or light shade. It is drought resistant and will flourish best in a sunny spot. It can be trimmed to make the bush more compact and dense.
