Sisyrinchium striatum

Sisyrinchium striatum provides a very effective vertical feature in the sunny flower border. The cream to buff flowers with yellow centres emerge from May to July on the 90 cm flower stems. While the evergreen glaucous upright blade like leaves resemble irises, and make a strong feature all the year round.
This plant will grow in any reasonably well drained soil. It can withstand frost, wet and droughts, but will grow best in moisture retentive well drained soil in a sunny position.
